Wins 17 awards at International Film Festivals across the globe

Within just 4 months of its release, Sambalpuri Romantic Music Video ‘KahideThare’ has won 17 Awards and has been screened at several International Film Festivals across the globe including one at Moscow (Russia) and one at Poland. ‘KahideThare’ is the 4th collaboration between Internationally acclaimed Writer-Director Biswanath Rath and award-winning singer-composer Bankim Patel. And like their previous projects, ‘KahideThare’ too is continuing its journey of winning awards and bringing glory to Odisha’s music and culture
On the auspicious occasion of Nuakhai 2022, ‘KahideThare’ was launched on BnRFilms’s YouTube Channel’. The video has already crossed 103,000 YouTube views.

Director Biswanath Rath (CEO of BnR Films) says, ‘We are humbled to receive these wonderful awards and recognition from International Film Festivals. It’s definitely a very special moment in the journey of this music video. We are overwhelmed with the response the song and the video are getting from audience as well as critic. We express our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has been part of this project.
Prior to this, Bankim and me have worked together on 3 other Award-winning Music Videos: ‘BarshaaBhijaaRaati’ (Odia), ‘India Jeetega’ (Hindi) and ‘Woh Bhi Kya Din TheYaar’ (Hindi). These three projects together have received a total of 31 Awards and Accolades. However, what inspired me to take up ‘KahideThare’ was not just the fact that it was our first collaboration on a Sambalpuri song, but also the soothing and soulful music of Bankim which was rooted in Sambalpuri traditionyet felt so modern.Every projecthas got its own set of challenges. This
project was no exception. Originally planned for August 2021 release, the project took almost a year’s time and got completed only in Aug 2022. However, myself and our lead actors Bankimand Sunali were optimistic about its response. Despite all the challenges, all of us thoroughly enjoyed working in this project. And now it feels like, all our hard work and patience are getting rewarded.’’
Music composer Bankim says, “In July 2021, when I had a casual conversation with Biswanath bhai about this song, little did I know that he will blend this song with the realistic story of a singer’s struggle during Corona Pandemic. It is so relatable. And as far as the Music goes, we have deliberately tried to take a contemporary approach to Sambalpuri Music as we believe this can take our music to a much wider and modern audience. Along with the YouTube release, this son has been released on all the major Music Streaming Apps like Gaana, JIO Saavn, Hungama, Spotify, Wynk Music, Apple Music etc.”
‘KahideThare’ has been produced by Biswanath Rath, Bankim Patel, Lipysmita Patel and Archana Rath. The video has been presented by multi-award-winning film production studio ‘BnR Films’ and Bankim Patel Music. Young and talented singer-composer Mr. Bankim Patel has written the Lyrics, composed the music and performed the song. Multi Award-winning filmmaker Biswanath Rath has directed the Music Video.
On 28th Nov, the Music Video received its first award. ‘Best Music Regional-Sambalpuri’ Award presented by Indogma Film Festival, Faridabad. This was followed by two more awards from another film festival on the very next day, i.e., 29th Nov 2022, namely ‘Best Music Video Award’ and ‘Best Director-Music Video’ awarded to Director Biswanath Rath. These awards were presented by Ideal International Film Festival, Maharashtra. Then Bankim received ‘Best Lyricist Awards’ at Filmyway International Film Festival (Mumbai) and Janjira International Film Festival (Maharashtra). The film has also received ‘Best Music Video Award’ at Canary International Film Festival (Tamil Nadu), Rohip International Film Festival (Tamil Nadu) & Santa Dev International Film Festival (Tamil Nadu), ‘Best VFX, Best Drama and Best Editor Award’ at ‘International Grand Glory Film Awards (Imphal)’
‘KahideThare’ will have its Russia Premiere at Short Shot Fest, Moscow (Russia), where this music video is one among the only two finalists selected out of hundreds of international entries: the other video being from France. Thus ‘KahideThare’ will represent Asia in this festival. Interestingly, this film festival from Moscow, Russia is supported by Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and city authorities.
In addition to the above awards, the film has been selected for screening/premiere at PL Music Video Awards (Poland), Lift-Off Filmmakers Session (UK).
