Bongaigaon: Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club, NTPC Bongaigaon organised a certificate distribution ceremony on Monday to mark the successful completion of its Sewing Training (7th Batch) and Beautician Training (1st Batch), aimed at creating livelihood opportunities for local women and promoting self-reliance.
A total of 37 women successfully completed the Sewing Training programme, while 14 women completed the Beautician Training, and were awarded certificates during the programme held at NTPC Bongaigaon in the presence of trainees, their families and members of the Ladies Club.
Speaking on the occasion, Smt. Kasturi Maitra, President, Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club, highlighted the importance of skill-based education for women, especially in building confidence, financial independence and dignity of work. She encouraged the trainees to use their skills meaningfully and explore opportunities for income generation.

She appreciated the efforts of the trainers and volunteers who supported the programme and expressed happiness over the growing participation of women from nearby areas in such initiatives. She also reaffirmed the Club’s intent to continue welfare-oriented programmes that support women and families in the region.
The Sewing Training programme, now in its seventh batch, has already benefited several women over the years, while the Beautician Training, introduced this year, received encouraging response from the participants. Both programmes form part of the Ladies Club’s ongoing effort to support community development through practical, need-based interventions.
The event concluded with the distribution of certificates, group photographs and interaction between trainees and members of the Ladies Club.
