Bhubaneswar (Kalinga Voice) : On the allegation of possession of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income by Smt. Mallilata Das, Lady Supervisor, office of CDPO, Bhadrak Block, Dist-Bhadrak, simultaneous house searches were conducted at 4 places in Bhadrak district on 24.08.2021 by 4 teams of Balasore Vigilance Division comprising 2 DSsP, 7 Inspectors and other staff on the strength of Search Warrants issued by the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Balasore.
1 five storeyed building and 1 four storeyed building-cum-shops and 3 plots at Samaraipur, Bhadrak town, 1 four wheeler, 1 Auto, 2 nos of two wheelers, assets/stock in four storeyed building-cum-shops over 1.13 crore, Bank deposits over Rs.1.96 lakh, Insurance deposits over Rs.1.83 lakh and other movable and immovable properties, all totalling to over Rs 2.63 crore were unearthed during the house search
After thorough search, inventory and further enquiry, the income, expenditure and assets of Smt. Mallilata Das, Lady Supervisor were calculated and she was found in possession of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income to the tune of Rs. 1,32,44,709/- (Rupees One crore Thirty-two Lakh Fouty-four Thousand Seven Hundred Nine) which constitutes 113% of his known sources of income.
As Smt. Mallilata Das, Lady Supervisor, office of CDPO, Bhadrak Block, Dist-Bhadrak was found in possession of disproportionate assets, which she could not account for satisfactorily, Balasore Vigilance P.S. Case No.14 dt.25.08.2021 was registered against Smt. Mallilata Das, Lady Supervisor and her spouse U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(b)/12 Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act2018. In course of investigation, today i.e. on 29.08.2021, Smt. Mallilata Das, Lady Supervisor and her spouse have been arrested and forwarded to the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Balasore. The Hon’ble Court has remanded both the accused to Judicial custody till 09.09.2021
