Bongaigaon(Kalinga Voice): NTPC Bongaigaon (3×250 MW) joined the nation in celebrating the 76th Republic Day with grandeur and enthusiasm. The celebrations began with the unfurling of the National Flag by Shri Arnab Maitra, Head of Project, NTPC Bongaigaon, who inspected a ceremonial parade by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), DGR Security Services, CISF Fire Wing, and students from Notre Dame Academy.
In his address, Shri Maitra highlighted the station’s notable achievements and the importance of India’s “Unity in Diversity.” He described Republic Day as a moment to reaffirm faith in the Constitution and the ideals it upholds. Shri Maitra also commended NTPC Bongaigaon for its consistent excellence in Operations and Maintenance and its contributions to the development of the North East region.
Shri Maitra encouraged employees, departments, and partners to continue working collectively to achieve new milestones for NTPC Bongaigaon and the region. He praised the station’s remarkable performance, ranking among NTPC’s top four stations in the Safety and Performance Evaluation Matrix. He further emphasized NTPC Bongaigaon’s dedication to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), environmental sustainability, and safety.
The occasion included the symbolic release of tricolour balloons by Shri Maitra, joined by members of the Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club, employees, and associates. In the presence of senior officials, including Shri Debabrata Kar, GM (O&M), Shri Asutosh Biswas, GM (Operation), Shri GM Thangzam, Commandant, CISF and Shri Onkar Nath, AGM (HR), Shri Maitra presented the BUH Meritorious Awards to 56 employees for their exceptional contributions in their work spaces. Additionally, awards were given to the Best CISF Contingent, the Best Jawan from DGR Security Services, and ICH staff.
A special appreciation souvenir was presented to the Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club, led by Smt. Kasturi Maitra, along with the HR Department, school teams, and CISF personnel for their commendable efforts during the celebrations.
The event also featured vibrant tableaux by Notre Dame Academy’s pipe band, Employee Welfare Association, Sports Council, Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club, FM Department, Safety Department, Medical Wing, and CISF Fire Wing. The tableaux beautifully depicted the theme “Swarnim Bharat – Virasat aur Vikas”.
Simultaneously, celebrations were held at the New Service Building, where Shri Debabrata Kar, GM (O&M), unfurled the National Flag. At Ankur Tiny Tots, the flag was hoisted by Smt. Kasturi Maitra, President of Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club, while the Notre Dame Academy management led their flag-hoisting ceremony, inspiring patriotic fervour among the students.
The festivities witnessed enthusiastic participation from Departmental Heads, employees, unions, associations, CISF, DGR Security Services, Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club, and family members. The event depicts NTPC Bongaigaon’s commitment to unity, excellence, and national progress.
