The Disha Classes is an educational outreach initiative under NTPC Bongaigaon’s EVOICE program, designed to provide free coaching to youth from nearby villages. The initiative focuses on preparing students for competitive exams, particularly for paramilitary and military forces. To complement this academic support, NTPC employees have teamed up with the CISF unit at the station to offer physical training, ensuring comprehensive preparation for the students. To date, more than 21 youth from nearby villages have secured employment in various paramilitary forces, including Assam Police, through the Disha Classes.
A highlight of the event was the presence of Shri Narkw Nazary, a former student of Disha Classes who is now employed at NTPC. He shared his journey, motivating the current students with his success story and reinforcing the program’s positive impact.
Since its inception in 2019, the EVOICE team’s Disha Classes have been dedicated to the holistic development of local youth, empowering them through various employment avenues. NTPC employees, along with CISF, have been devoting their time beyond office hours to provide guidance and education, with the aim of preparing the youth for competitive exams in armed, defense, state, and central paramilitary forces. NTPC Bongaigaon remains committed to supporting the community through such initiatives, ensuring that local youth are equipped with the necessary skills and resources to succeed in their future endeavors.
