Bongaigaon: Shri Sudip Nag, Regional Executive Director (ER-I and II), NTPC, undertook a two-day visit to NTPC Bongaigaon recently.  Emphasizing the importance of inclusive development for all stakeholders, Shri Nag highlighted NTPC Bongaigaon’s potential to become a model station within the NTPC network. Accompanying him were Shri Akhilesh Singh, Head of Project, NTPC Bongaigaon, and senior officials of the station.

During his visit, Shri Nag conducted inspections of various plant areas including the Coal Handling Plant (CHP) and the wagon tippler area. He reviewed several critical aspects of the plant’s operations, visited the Central Control Room (CCR) for Units I, II, and III, and inspected the under-construction Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD) unit. Shri Nag interacted with engineers in the control room, expressing his satisfaction with the operational parameters being maintained and motivating them to continually improve while prioritizing safety. He stated, “NTPC Bongaigaon has all the potential to become the model station of NTPC and all must work towards it with team spirit.”

Shri Nag also conducted a review meeting with all Heads of Departments (HODs), congratulating NTPC Bongaigaon for setting new benchmarks in power generation and commendable safety practices. He encouraged the team to continue their exemplary work and assured them of full support from the regional office in all areas of operation and maintenance. He praised the leadership of Shri Akhilesh Singh, acknowledging the significant progress under his guidance.

Meetings were also held with union representatives, associations, and Engineering Trainees (ETs), where Shri Nag sought their positive support in enhancing various operational and human resource functions. Shri Nag also visited the Sericulture Unit of Bodoland Silk Park and laid the foundation stone of the dormitory building.

In the evening, a cultural program featuring the dance forms of the North East was organized in Shri Nag’s honor. During the event, Shri Nag released two films—one on biodiversity and the other on cleanliness (Swachhata). Addressing the employees, he congratulated NTPC Bongaigaon for ranking among the top ten stations in the Safety Evaluation Matrix and commended the station’s vibrant culture.

As part of the visit, Shri Sudip Nag and Shri Akhilesh Singh planted saplings to promote environmental conservation. The occasion was also graced by Shri Induri S Reddy, GM (O&M), Shri Asutosh Biswas, GM (Operation), and Shri Sanjay Pande, GM (FGD), HODs and departmental heads.
