Renowned Classical Dancer Dr. Sandhya Purecha meets Amma, Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi

Amritapuri : In a crucial step towards achieving the goals of W20,Renowned classical dancer, Dr. Sandhya Purecha, met spiritual leader and the Chancellor of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Sri Mata Amritanandanmayi Devi at Amritapuri. The Government of India recently appointed Mata Amritanandanmayi Devi and Dr. Purecha as the Chair of C20, G20’s Civil Society Engagement Group and Chair of W20, G20’s Gender Equality engagement group respectively.

On the occasion of meeting Amma, Dr. Sandhya Purecha, Chair of W20, G20’s Gender Equality expressed that she had wished to meet Amma since a very long time but due to prior professional commitments, was unable to do so. She felt blessed to finally meet Amma at Amritapuri and that Amma, the divine mother of everyone, accepted Dr. Purecha as her own daughter. Recently, Amma expressed her vision on putting sincere efforts to develop solutions for grave issues including hunger, conflict, extinction of species, as the Chair of C20. W20 India vision is to create a an equal and equitable society emphasizing on women led development.
