Vedanta Aluminium Conducts Emergency Mock Drill in Jharsuguda forTransformer Fires

Jharsuguda,Odisha;7th September 2024:Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest aluminium producer, conducted a comprehensive on-site emergency mock drill at its aluminium plant inJharsuguda. The drill focused on transformer fires and subsequent rescue operations. The mock drill was overseen by Mr. Swarup Jena, Deputy Director of Factories and Boilers- Sambalpur Division, and Ms. Archana Das, Assistant Director of Factories and Boilers, Jharsuguda, and was attended by distinguished guests including Mr. Sushant Mishra, Odisha State Disaster Management Authority (OSDMA), as well as officers from mutual aid partner plants, such as JSW and TRL.

The exercise simulated a transformer fire and rescue operation, aiming to test and enhance the site’s emergency response capabilities. The drill was executed with precision and received commendation from all participants for its effective emergency mobilization and robust communication protocols.Feedback from the attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with praise for the swift and coordinated response efforts.
