Cuttack (Kalinga Voice) : Chief Justice, High Court of Orissa Dr. S. Muralidhar inaugurated the 13 (thirteen) numbers of New Courts in the Cadre of Senior Civil Judge on 20.05.2023 namely (1) 2nd Addl. Sr. Civil Judge, Puri in the Judgeship of Puri, (2) Sr. Civil Judge, Kantamal in the Judgeship of Boudh, (3) Sr. Civil Judge, Purusottampur in the Judgeship of Ganjam, (4) Sr. Civil Judge, Jaipatna in the Judgeship of Kalahandi, (5) Sr. Civil Judge, G. Udayagiri in the Judgeship of Kandhamal, (6) Sr. Civil Judge (Women’s Court), Boudh in the Judgeship of Boudh, (7) Sr. Civil Judge (Women’s Court), Angul in the Judgeship of Angul, (8) Sr. Civil Judge (Women’s Court), Jharsuguda in the Judgeship of Jharsuguda, (9) Sr. Civil Judge (Women’s Court), Sundargarh in the Judgeship of Sundargarh, (10) Sr. Civil Judge (Women’s Court), Malkangiri in the Judgeship of Malkangiri, (11) Sr. Civil Judge (Women’s Court), Nabarangpur in the Judgeship of Nabarangpur, (12) Sr. Civil Judge (LR & LTV), Balasore in the Jdugeship of Balasore and (13) Sr. Civil Judge (LR & LTV), Bargarh in the Judgeship of Bargarh in the presence of Hon’ble Administrative Judges of the aforesaid respective Judgeships and the companion Judges of the Court in Hybrid Mode.
Hon’ble Shri Justice Debabrata Dash and Hon’ble Shri Justice Biswanath Rath joined from Purusottampur and Jaipatna respectively. Among others, the District & Sessions Judges and other Judicial Officers of aforesaid Judgeships and Members of Bar Association of aforesaid locations were also present in the function, through virtual mode.
Speaking on the occasion, Justice Biswanath Rath said, opening of new Courts will trigger the rate of disposal of cases and the litigant public of the locality will be benefited immensely by availing justice at their door steps.
Justice Debabrata Dash urged the young advocates to upgrade themselves legally, to adopt the technological advancement in ever growing legal system and to aid in the administration of justice by their conviction in gaining legal knowledge. He also said that the presiding officers of newly established Courts to laid their foundation firmly in due dispensation of justice. He said the long standing desire of the people of the locality has become fulfilled by the establishment of Sr. Civil Judge Court in Purushottampur in the Judgeship of Ganjam.
Dr. Justice B. R. Sarangi said that presiding officers must toil hard to serve the society with reasonable dispensation of justice. He also said that all the stake holders should work together to cater the needs of the people of the locality particularly those belong to poor and marginalised group.
Justice S. Talapatra said that access to justice is the symbol of proper functioning of dynamic democracy. Infrastructure development is one of the aspects to access justice. It helps the socially disadvantaged people, impoverished and marginalised group to access justice more convincingly. He addressed the presiding officers of the newly opened Courts that they should constantly strive to develop innovative ideas and put efforts in the best use of infrastructure of the Court system. He said that just and proper dispensation of justice is a measure to stabilise peace and tranquillity in the society.
Dr. Justice Muralidhar, the Chief Justice said that opening of Courts at the 13 (thirteen) destinations is spread across the geographical diversity of Odisha and this is a part of bigger expansion project undertaken by the High Court. He thanked the State Government for the support in establishment of new Courts. He said that the new Courts are fully equipped to take up the challenges with the help of technology. The Chief Justice hailed the role of technology in transformation of the State Judiciary during pandemic and post pandemic period. He congratulated the judges of the High Court of Orissa for their constant effort in the transformation and guiding the district judiciary in the right direction. He said that only because of the team of work, the vision of access to justice could shape into the reality. The Chief Justice congratulated the women judicial officers who presided over the women courts. He urged for more and more women participation in judicial task force.
