ROURKELA(Basanta Kumar Jena):A 40 hours mediation training workshop for the advocate of Western Odisha is started at Council Hall, RMC, Rourkela on dt. 01.04.2023 and it will continue till 05.04.2023 under the aegis of Odisha State Legal Service Authority (OSLSA), Cuttack.
The inauguration function of the said workshop was held on dt. 01.04.2023 in the gracious presence of Hon’ble Shri Justice S. Talapatra, Judge High Court of Odisha, Executive Chairman, Orissa State Legal Service Authority (OSLSA) Cuttack and Member mediation Monitoring Committee, Hon’ble Shri Justice K.R.Mohapatra, Member Monitoring Committee Hon’ble Miss Justice S.Ratho, Member Monitoring Committee, Hon’ble Justice M.S.Sahoo, Member Monitoring Committee.
Shri Subhadarshi Pattanik, Hon’ble District Judge, Sundargarh has delivered the welcome address. Shri S.C.Majhi , President Rourkela Bar Association has expressed his joy and gratitude on behalf of advocate of Western Odisha for organizing this workshop at Rourkela.
Hon’ble Miss justice S. Ratho, in her speech, has described mediation as popular method of dispute resolation especially in matrimonial disputes. Hon’ble Shri Justice K.R.Mohaptra has highlighted the pivotal role of mediation in Alternative Dispute Resolution mechanism and effectiveness of pre litigation mediation in commercial dispute.
In his inaugural address Hon’ble Shri Justice S.Talapatra has emphasized on the requirement of this intensive 40 hours mediation training and discussed the role and duties of an ideal mediator and important object of mediation.
Hon’ble Shri Justice M.S. Sahoo has given importance to humanize litigating parties and to lead them towards a mutual settlement.
R.Rathna Thara and S.Padma, advocates of Madras High Court and master trainers of Supreme Court, MCPC Committee have joined this workshop to impart training. Advocates of Sundargarh, Sambalpur and Jharsuguda districts have participated in this 40 hours mediation training workshop.
