Bhubaneswar, Jan 26: KIIT and KISS Deemed-to-be-Universities celebrated 76th Republic Day, with Fabio Azevedo, President of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB), gracing the occasion as the Chief Guest.
The celebration featured a parade by students, which was reviewed by the Founder of KIIT and KISS, Dr. Achyuta Samanta. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Samanta emphasised the tradition of observing Republic Day at KIIT and KISS with great pomp every year. He highlighted that the presence of international dignitaries, such as Fabio Azevedo, adds significance to the event.
In his address to the students, Fabio Azevedo underscored the importance of unity as the strength of a nation. He remarked, “When there is unity among people, the country can progress.”
The event was attended by several prominent personalities, including KIIT and KISS Society Vice President Umapada Bose, Secretary R. N. Dash, KIIT DU Chancellor Ashok Parija, Pro-Chancellor Dr. Subrat Acharya, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Saranjit Singh, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (School of Medicine) Dr. C. B. K. Mohanty, Prof. Debasish Bandyopadhyay, Registrar Prof. J R Mohanty, KISS University Pro-Chancellor Prof. Amareshwar Galla, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Deepak Behera, and Registrar Dr. P. K. Rautaray.
On this occasion, Padma Shri awardee-designate and Director of KIIT School of Fine Arts, Adwaita Gadanayak, was felicitated for his contributions. Additionally, staff and students of KIIT, KISS, and KIMS who excelled in various fields were also honoured.
The celebration concluded with an exhibition of creative projects by various schools of KIIT and KISS, accompanied by a vibrant cultural programme.
