78th Independence Day celebrated at NTPC ER-II Headquarter

Bhubaneswar : The 78thIndependence Day was celebrated at NTPC ER-II Headquarters with traditional splendour. Shri Arindam Sinha , Regional Executive Director NTPC (Eastern Region -HQ -II) hoisted the National Flag and took the ceremonial salute. This was followed by his address.

Shri Arindam Sinha, stated that it was with a great sense of pride that we celebrating the 77thIndependence Day of our Nation. He recalled the struggles and sacrifices of our freedom fighters, who fought for the independence and sovereignty of our nation.

He stated thatthe People’ at NTPC are the prime movers of powering ournation and contributing significantly to its growth. With a humble start in1975, NTPC is now the nation’s largest and most admired energy major. It is indeed a matter of pride that our company is India’s largest integratedenergy company with an installed capacity of more than 70 GW powering thecountry’s growth.ERII Region has stood as a pillar and partner in NTPC’s journey towards excellence.

Shri Arindam Sinha, stated that It is indeed a matter of pride that our company is India’s largest integrated energy company with an installed capacity of more than 76,134 MW powering the country’s growth.

Present installed capacity of NTPC Group is 76,134 MW , comprising of 52 NTPC owned stations (27 coal based, 7 gas based, 1 hydro, 1 small hydro, and 16 solar PV) and 42 Joint Venture/Subsidiary stations (9 coal based, 4 gas based, 8 hydro, 1 small hydro, 16 solar PV and 4 wind).

The Regional Executive Director further stated that NTPC is expanding its footprint in new business areas like green hydrogen, waste-to-energy and e-mobility. India’s largest powerproducer is also aiming for a 10 per cent reduction in net energy intensity by2032. NTPC has become India’s first energy company to declare its energycompact goals as part of the UN High-level Dialogue on Energy (HLDE).

NTPC’s flagship CSR initiative, Girl Empowerment Mission (GEM), has reached new heights of success in helping young girls to realize their goals. This year, NTPC has carried out its GEM program in around 42 Projects/Stations.

The program aligns with the Government of India’s Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao initiative and aims to tackle gender inequality by nurturing girls’ imaginations and fostering their ability to explore opportunities. The 1-month workshop for young girls during summer holidays, by offering them a platform for their all-round upliftment and development.

Shri Arindam Sinha, Regional Executive Director called upon everyone to work together towards the larger cause of sustaining the competitive advantage of the company and the development of the nation. He urged upon all employees of ER-II to come forward and contribute their best for the organisation and the Nation at large.
