Instructed all officers to intensify sensitization drive

Baripada (Dillip Mohanty): Additional Chief Secretary, Forest & Environment Department Dr. Mona Sharma visited Simlipal Tiger Reserve today and assessed the situation regarding the recent incidence of fire points in the forest. She visited many areas of the Simlipal Tiger Reserve from Baniabasa to Thakurmunda, including the Core Area. She also interacted with some villagers inside Simlipal. She did not come across any active fire point throughout her visit.

There has not been any fire in Core Area. Most of the fire points in the past few days have been around habitations. She instructed all officers to intensify sensitization meetings in all concerned villages and habitations. As on today, all fire points in Simlipal have been attended and doused successfully.
