MHA asks states to allow unhindered movement of persons and goods and services during unlock3 Restrictions

New Delhi (Kalinga Voice) : MHA asks States to allow unhindered movement of persons and goods and services during unlock3 Restrictions at local level imposed by District Administrations or by State Governments is a violation of MHA guidelines under DMA, 2005 provisions. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has written a letter to the state governments in this regard stating that there shall be no restrictions on the inter-state and intra-state movement of persons and goods, sources said on Saturday (August 22, 2020).

Union Home Secretary Abhay Bhalla has written this letter to state chief secretaries drawing their attention to para 5 of the Centre’s Unlock 3.0 guidelines. The para 5 clearly states that there shall be no restrictions on inter-state and intra-state movement of persons and goods. But despite the Centre’s clear guidelines, there are reports that local level restrictions on movement are being imposed by various districts/states or local levels. It is creating problems in the inter-state movement of goods & services and disturbing the supply chains.
Such restriction violates the MHA Guideline. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) had recently issued new guidelines as part of the Centre’s Unlock 3.0 measures which came into effect on August 1. So the state and UT administration should adhere to the guideline for unhindered inter-state and intra-state movement of persons and goods,
