Aditya Alumina Refinery Celebrates Women’s Day with Local Community

Tikiri, 7 March 2026: Aditya Alumina Refinery, Kansariguda, a unit of Hindalco Industries Limited under the Aditya Birla Group, celebrated International Women’s Day 2026 with great enthusiasm under the theme “#GiveToGain.” The event witnessed the participation of more than 600 women, including female employees, members of the surrounding communities, and employees’ spouses, creating a vibrant platform to recognise the strength, leadership, and contributions of women in society.
The celebration was graced by distinguished guests including renowned Indian sprinter Dutee Chand, Col. Shweta Prabhati of the Indian Army, and social leader Heena Beig. Their inspiring presence motivated participants and highlighted the importance of perseverance, leadership, and women’s empowerment.


Several prominent community leaders also joined the celebration, including Saraswati Majhi, Zilla Parishad Chairman of Rayagada; Swai Kulesika, Chairman of Laxmipur Block; Pinki Himirika, Zilla Parishad Member; and Lilabati Mandinga, Sarpanch of Podapadi. Their participation reflected the strong collaboration between industry and community in promoting women’s leadership at the grassroots level.
During the programme, inspiring addresses were delivered by Dutee Chand, Col. Shweta Prabhati, and Heena Beig, who shared their life journeys and encouraged women to believe in their abilities and continue striving for success despite challenges. The event also featured an engaging question-and-answer session, where female employees and women from nearby communities actively interacted with the panelists. The discussion created an open platform for dialogue, inspiration, and learning, allowing participants to connect directly with the distinguished guests.


The celebration also showcased vibrant cultural performances by lady teachers, female security personnel, and community members. Women who have made significant contributions in the fields of health, education, livelihoods, and community mobilisation were felicitated during the event in recognition of their impactful work.
On this occasion, Mazhar Beig, Unit Head and President of Aditya Alumina Refinery, Kansariguda, shared his message emphasising the importance of collective growth and inclusion. He noted that the theme “Give to Gain” reflects the belief that when individuals and organisations contribute to empowering women and communities, society as a whole becomes stronger. He appreciated the enthusiastic participation of employees, partners, and community women and reaffirmed the refinery’s commitment to promoting gender equality, skill development, and community empowerment.


The celebration concluded with a shared message that empowering women leads to stronger families, stronger communities, and a more inclusive future, truly reflecting the spirit of International Women’s Day 2026.
