Awareness Enhanced Through Fire Safety Mock Drill at DAV, Jharsuguda

Jharsuguda,10/04/2026: A fire safety and emergency preparedness mock drill was conducted at the DAV Public School campus in Jharsuguda on the occasion of the 83rd National Fire Service Week. The drill, organized under the direct supervision of DAV Principal, Laxmikanta Debta, focused on disaster management and emergency response.
Officials from the Vedanta Fire Service and the Fire & Safety Department provided practical training to teachers, students, and staff. The training covered handling various types of fire incidents—from minor to major—along with techniques for extinguishing fires using water, foam, and gas. Participants were also educated on the proper use of fire extinguishers, first aid measures, personal safety, and awareness practices.

Key members of the Vedanta Fire Service team, including Fire Deputy In-Charge K. R. Ashish, Fire In-Charge Paras Meena, Mayank Kaparkar, Megha Prabeesh, Fire Officer S. K. Sahu, Satya Mishra, Fire Engineer Anshuman Patidar, and DCPO Bablu Kumar Sahu, along with other team members, actively participated in the drill. They informed students about fire safety regulations, emergency response strategies, and necessary actions during crisis situations.
The school’s Disaster Management Committee, along with teaching staff and around 2,000 students, attended the program and actively participated in the exemplary mock drill.
