Biju Janata Dal Launches Campaign for Nuapada Bye-Election at Nuagaon for Komna Block
Nuapada , 24/10/2025: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) today launched its campaign for the forthcoming Nuapada Bye-Election with an impressive show off strength and public support at Village Nuagaon, Nuagaon Gram Panchayat for Komna Block. Thousands of enthusiastic supporters, well-wishers, and local residents warmly welcomed Smt. Snehangini Chhuria, the BJD candidate for the Nuapada Assembly constituency.
The campaign commenced at around 12 PM, where Smt. Chhuria was taken in a massive procession across the village, accompanied by senior leaders and BJD workers. The rally reflected the overwhelming support of the people for the Biju Janata Dal and its leadership under Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik. The day’s proceedings began with prayers and rituals at the local Jagannath Temple, where Smt. Chhuria, along with senior party leaders, sought the blessings of Lord Jagannath and the elders of Nuagaon Panchayat. The public meeting was presided over by Shri Puspendra Singhdeo, former Minister and senior BJD leader.
Addressing the gathering, Smt. Deepika Deep, Vice-Chairman of Nuapada Zilla Parishad, highlighted that all major development initiatives in Komna Block have been implemented under the visionary leadership of Shri Naveen Patnaik. She strongly criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for reversing the progress achieved during the last two decades, stating that in the past 16 months, the BJP government has halted many developmental works. She added that nearly 150 schools in Nuapada district have been shut down under the current BJP administration, severely affecting the education of rural children.
Speaking at the event, Smt. Snehangini Chhuria expressed her gratitude to Hon’ble Former Chief Minister & President Biju Janata Dal Shri Naveen Patnaik for entrusting her with the opportunity to serve the people of Nuapada. She pledged to fulfill the dreams and commitments envisioned by Late Shri Rajendra Dholkia and assured that all development projects initiated during the BJD tenure would be continued with renewed focus. She further alleged that the BJP government has completely stalled all development works in the district and has been involved in a series of scams. Referring to the recent Police Sub-Inspector recruitment examination scandal, she stated that question paper leaks have deprived thousands of deserving youths across Odisha of their rightful opportunities, as many recruitment exams have been repeatedly postponed.
Senior BJD leader and Vice-President Shri Debi Prasad Mishra also joined the campaign, addressing the large gathering and appealing to the people to support the Biju Janata Dal. He emphasized that under the dynamic leadership of Shri Naveen Patnaik, Nuapada has witnessed genuine progress, especially in sectors such as rural connectivity, education, healthcare, and welfare schemes for the tribal and marginalized communities. He reiterated that the BJD has always stood firmly for the rights and development of the tribals and weaker sections of society.
The campaign covered Nuagaon Gram Panchayat, Tikirpada Gram Panchayat, and Painor Gram Panchayat under Komna Block, where Smt. Chhuria interacted with the public and local representatives, receiving widespread support and blessings from villagers. Prominent leaders present throughout the campaign included Shri Abani Ranjan Joshi, District President, BJD Nuapada; Shri Manoj Mishra, General Secretary, BJD ; Smt. Deepika Deep, Vice-Chairman, Nuapada Zilla Parishad; and Shri Kartik Deep, Senior BJD Leader.
The campaign concluded with a strong message of commitment to inclusive development, peace, and progress, reaffirming that only under Shri Naveen Patnaik’s leadership can Nuapada continue its journey of sustainable growth and empowerment.
