Bhubaneswar : A bike rally and signature campaign were organized to promote responsible driving and raise awareness about road safety. The event, led by the Directorate of Medical Education and Training (DMET) and Ziqitza Health Care Ltd. (ZHL) / Zenplus Private Limited, saw enthusiastic participation from officials, employees, bikers, and road safety advocates.
Prof. (Dr.) U. K. Satpathy, MD, Additional DMET, Odisha, flagged off the rally, stressing the need for collective efforts to reduce road accidents. The rally passed through high-traffic areas like the DMET Office-Natala, AG Square, Ram Mandir, Rupali Square, and Nalco Square to highlight the importance of safe driving in busy zones. On this occasion Prof. (Dr.) Santosh Kumar Mishra,. Director, DMET and Sk Habibur Rahman, Odisha Head, ZenPlus were also present at the event .

The rally passed through key locations, including the DMET Office-Natala, AG Square, Power House Chhak, Ram Mandir, Rupali Square, and Nalco Square. These locations were strategically chosen to highlight the importance of road safety in high-traffic areas.
In the backdrop of recent road mishaps, the activity was conceptualized to reinforce the message of reducing road accidents and bringing communities together for a safer road commuting.
Speaking at the event, Prof. (Dr.) U. K. Satpathy said, “Every year, 40-45% of accident victims lose their lives, with youth being the most affected. This is a huge loss for our society. The main objective of this rally is to create awareness about road safety and safe driving practices. People must understand their responsibility on the road. This rally aims to inspire others to follow road safety rules seriously.” There are 89 notified trauma care centers in 30 districts. In addition, each Ambulance is also considered as first point Trauma facilities for stabilizing accident victims during transportation to nearest centre.
Mr. Naresh Jain, CEO of Zenplus Private Ltd., echoed the importance of road safety, saying, “This is not just a campaign; it’s a collective call to action. Let’s aim for zero fatalities and work together to ensure safe roads for everyone.”
