Police SI Recruitment Scam: BJD calls for Statewide Movement for Justice to Youth and Student
- Protest demanding CBI investigation.
- Biju YuvaChhatra Janata Dal demands resignation of the Chief Minister.
Bhubaneswar, 08/10/2025:In connection with the irregularities in the Police Sub-Inspector (SI) recruitment examination, the Biju Yuva Janata Dal and Biju Chhatra Janata Dal have announced a statewide youth and student justice movement, according to a declaration made by the party today.
At a press conference held at ShankhaBhavan on Wednesday, Biju Yuva Janata Dal President ChinmayaSahu said that the “Cash for Job” scam has deeply hurt the youth and student community of the state. “Therefore, to expose this massive corruption, we have demanded a CBI investigation. However, instead of allowing an impartial probe, the State Government has handed over the investigation to the Crime Branch to shield the big names involved,” they said.
They further alleged that the roots of this scam extend from certain members of the Council of Ministers up to the Chief Minister himself. “We had earlier released photographs showing the main accused posing with the Chief Minister and several ministers. Rather than investigating the matter sincerely, the Crime Branch is busy destroying evidence,” Shri Sahu stated.
He added, “The State Government had entrusted two private agencies to conduct the recruitment exams as part of their plan to auction off government jobs. The government has no answer as to under which rules the OPRB (Odisha Police Recruitment Board) authorised these agencies to conduct the exam. The BJP has now turned LokSeva Bhavan into a job-selling centre. Therefore, we demand a CBI probe and the resignation of the Chief Minister.”
He declared that the Biju YuvaChhatra Janata Dal will launch a statewide youth and student justice movement against this large-scale corruption, and it will continue until their demands are met.
Biju Chhatra Janata Dal President Ipsita Sahoo said that thousands of young aspirants across Odisha, who had been preparing for government jobs with hope, are now disheartened and frustrated. “Many of them have reached out to us. To ensure justice for these youths and students, the Biju YuvaChhatra Janata Dal has called for this YuvaChhatra Nyaya Andolan,” she said.
She reminded that before coming to power, the BJP had promised to provide 1.5 lakh government jobs within two years, but instead of offering jobs, they are now selling them. She further asserted that the youth and students of Odisha will raise their voice against this injustice and give a fitting reply to this government.
