Bhubaneswar: Boosting rail connectivity the State will have new rail lines, as an important feather in Hon’ble Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modiji’s vision “Purvodaya”. New rail line between Bargarh Road and Nuapara Road and new double line from Sardega (Sundargarh) to Bhalumuda (Chhattisgarh) will come up with an estimated cost of 4,286 Cr., said Sri Bibhuti Bhusan Jena, Minister, Commerce and Transport.
Informing regarding the new connectivity, Minister Sri Jena said that Bargarh Road to Nuapara Road rail line covering 138 KMs with an estimated cost of 2926 Cr. will reduce distance between Sambalpur and Raipur by approximately 87 Kms. While Bargarh is known as rice-bowl of Odisha and Nuapara is an aspirational district, this new rail line will provide vicinity to world famous Nrushinghanath temple. Goods shed at Padampur is planed to facilitate rice transportation as well as inward movement of cement, steel and fertilizers. Besides, it will promote Sambalpuri Handloom and textile products. The employment generation capacity of this line will be 47 Lakh mandays.
Minister Sri Jena further said that new double line of 37 Kilometers between Sardega of Sundargarh district and Bhalumuda of Raigarh district in Chhattisgarh will come up. Both are important stations of Sundargarh and Raigarh districts respectively. These areas with large tribal population have very strong cultural and social relations. As there is no bus service between Sardega and Bhalumuda, this rail line will immensely benefit the people. With an estimated cost of 1360 Crore this new double line will have employment generation capacity of 25 Lakh mandays.
