Dhenkanal(Kalinga Voice); A day long workshop on DRI Making, Emerging Technologies, Sustainability, Energy Conservation in DRI Process and Emotional Intelligence has been organized at organized at MGM Steel Plant located at Meramandali by Biju Patnaik National Steel Institute, Government of India, Ministry of Steel.
The Director of BPNSI Mr. Pritam Purkayastha delivering the welcome address via video conferencing highlighted activities and importance of the Institute . Mr Purkayastha too presented important information about steel making and steel industry.
On behalf of BPNSI, Prof. Suresh Chandra Patnaik, Ex-Professor, IGIT Saranga presented detailed deliberation on DRI Manufacturing and Emerging Technologies before the participating engineers of MGM Steel Plant and too answered their querries.
Later, Prof. Sharat Chandra Panigrahi, former professor, IIT Khadagpur, through an academic reference, gave an insightful presentation on Sustainability, Energy Conservation in DRI Process. In the afternoon, Dr. Seemanta Mohanty delivered a keynote speech on Emotional Intelligence in the workshop.
Head and ED (Technical Steel Division) of MGM Steel Plant Shri Gopbandhu Das praised the workshop conducted by BPNSI and thanked for the insightful orientation. All the participating engineers also appreciated the learning as well. In cordination with Er Pradeep Kumar Mahalik of BPNSI, Prof. Satyapriya Shatpathy of Biju Patnaik National Steel Institute conducted the workshop.
