Brajarajnagar bye-election: DGP reviewed the poll preparedness

Bhubaneswar (Kalinga Voice) : DGP Odisha today reviewed the poll preparedness with the senior officials for the poll-bound 06-Brajarajnagar Assembly Constituency. The Bye-Elections of 06-Brajarajnagar Assembly Constituency of Jharsuguda District will be held on 31st May 2022. Today DGP, Shri Bansal reviewed the poll preparedness with Director Intelligence, Addl. DG of Police (Law & Order), IGP (Hdqrs), IGP (Personnel), IGP(Northern Range), DIGP (Intelligence) and SP, Jharsuguda District through Video Conference. DGP emphasized on free, fair, transparent, impartial, and incident-free bye-elections. He stressed on strict enforcement of model code of conduct and adherence to the ECI guidelines for Police arrangements and security arrangements, including visits of VIPs and VVIPs. He further emphasized on intensifying prophylactic measures including bounding down of persons U/s 110 / 107 Cr.P.C., seizure of illegal arms, seizure of illicit liquor and execution of NBWs.

     ShriR.K. Sharma, ADGP, Law, and Order reviewed the overall deployment plan and emphasized on enhancing the work of Mobile Squads and Flying Squads and thorough checking by setting up Nakas around the constituency.

     Shri Sanjeeb Panda, Director Intelligence shared the intelligence connected with the Bye-election and urged theDIGP and SP to closely monitor the law and order situation.

3 Coys of CAPF, 12 platoons of State OSAP, 25 mobile patrolling parties, 6 flying squads, 10 SST along with district Police Officers/ Men have been deployed for smooth conduct of bye-elections.

     Police have seized 1150 Litres of liquors, and 2 illegal arms, registered 138 nos of excise cases and executed 90 nos of pending warrants during the Bye-Election process so far.

     Adequate security arrangements have also been made in strong room with CCTV coverage to ensure the round-the-clock safety of EVMs. The election will be conducted with strict enforcement of ECI guidelines, says a press release from the police head quarter.
