Bhubaneswar(Kalinga Voice) : Chief Minister spoke on the telephone to Sri Gopinath Dakua, an Octogenarian from Raikia in Kandhamal district about his health after he is discharged from Hospital. Highly praising the self-confidence and strong willpower of 81-year-old Sri Dakua in fighting COVID-19, Hon’ble Chief Minister hoped that his experience and triumph shall encourage others and wished him long and healthy life. Similarly, Sri Dakua expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Hon’ble Chief Minister for providing him adequate treatment, care, and quality food in COVID Hospital.
Sri Dakua, a native of Tala Indragada in Raikia Block of Kandhamal district, was initially undergoing treatment at Indragada Public Health Centre (PHC) after having influenza and Cough. Later, with his health conditions deteriorating and developing symptoms of Covid19, he was shifted to the nearby Temporary Medical Centre (PMC) at Kalinga Model Residential School (KMRS) at Raikia on 28th June 2020.
As he was showing symptoms of Covid-19, swap test was conducted and he was found Corona positive. Though his condition was stable, he was shifted to COVID Hospital at Phulbani on 04th July for his treatment.
His health condition improved gradually 8th July, 2020 onwards and finally he was discharged from COVID Hospital on 13th July. On being discharged, Sri Dakua expressed gratitude to the Hon’ble Chief Minister for extending free treatment to COVID patients like him in the state. He also expressed his gratitude to the district administration and to the staff of the COVID Care Hospital. “During my treatment at COVID Hospital, Doctors, Nurses, and other staff attended sincerely and took good care of me. Good quality food was also provided in the COVID Hospital”, said Sri Dakua.
Sri Dakua is a bright example of hope and courage to many Corona affected persons. In spite of his old age and various ailments, he defied Coronavirus which gives a positive the message that all should be hopeful to combat the disease in the future.
