Bhubaneswar/Kendujhar(Kalinga Voice): Chief Secretary,OdishaShriPradeep Kumar Jena visited Keonjhar district today and conducted site visits to a range of institutions and reviewed the development of multiple projects.
Shri Jena visited DD University old town campus and Main Campus. He reviewed the Upgradation& Transformation Plan for the University presented by the District Administration. While interacting with the university Authorities and the students he focussed upon developing research activities, creating employment linkages with other universities and industry linkages & suggested various steps to be taken to propel DD University as a leading university in the State and Country.He further motivated the students to aspire more and accomplish their dreams while carrying the newly formed university forward.
Chief Secretary Shri Jena inaugurated Gopaljew Pathagar, a community library dedicated towards the dissemination of cultural and spiritual heritage. Shri Jena visited DMF funded Agriculture Production Cluster at Mukuna stretching over a patch of 59 acre equipped with 5 MT cold storage and pack house facilities. He appreciated this successful model, which has empowered more than 39,000 women farmers.
Shri Jena also visited Satyanarayan Govt High School, Mukuna, transformed under 5-T initiative and reviewed the performance of existing smart classes, ICT laband science lab facilities in the school. Shri Jena, visiting DD Medical College & Hospital interacted with the Dean, MS, Teaching and Clinical Staff while congratulating them for the state of the art Medical College & Hospital. He emphasized upon creation of a hygienic Cafeteria for the serving healthy and nutritious food for the staff, students, patients, and their attendant and establishment and installation of high-end equipment’s in the laboratories for ease of correct diagnosis and subsequent treatment of patients.
Shri Jena visited the OSME campus, where he interacted with students & the faculties regarding the placement and industrial exposure for students. Principal, OSME presented the overview of college and briefed about the different ongoing development work being carried out from OMBADC fund and discussion was held regarding upgrading the infrastructure and other facilities at OSME.
Chief Secretary Shri Jena also highly appreciated the crèche initiative mentioning this as a remarkable program not only to ensure nutritional security of the children under the age group of 07 months to 03 years but also bears a tremendous potential to address cognitive development of the child.
Shri Jena conducted a review of major line departments in Mini Conference hall at Collectorate,Kendhujhar . Shri Jena also reviewed the performance of water treatment plant under the aegis of RWS&S at Biragobindpur of Ghasipura block.
District Magistrate & Collector KeonjharShriAshishThakare IAS, CDO cum EO ZillaParishad, KeonjharShriBishnu Prasad Acharya and other senior officials of the district were present during the visits and review meetings.
