Bhubaneswar: People interested to go for the Covishield vaccine in the capital city can get the jab at the Institute of Medical Sciences and SUM Hospital here, according to the Medical Superintendent of the hospital, Prof. Pusparaj Samantarsinhar.
The vaccine, being used to prevent the spread of Covid-19, is being administered to people as per the rules laid down by the authorities since June 17, he said adding each dose had been priced at Rs. 780 as fixed by the
government.
IMS and SUM Hospital was one of the few medical centres in the country which had been chosen for the human trial of the Covaxin vaccine. It has also been vaccinating people since January 16 last when Prime Minister Narendra Modi
launched the countrywide vaccination program. More than 20,000 people have been vaccinated with Covaxin at the hospital till the end of May last, according to Dr. Lipilekha Patnaik, Professor in the Community Medicine department and Nodal Officer for the vaccination program.
