Bhubaneswar (Kalinga Voice) : Girish Chandra Murmu of Odisha, who resigned from the post of Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, has been appointed as the CAG of the country. Sri Murmu will be the first Odia to get coveted and a highly influential post. Chief Minister of Odisha Navin Pattanayak and Union Petrolium, Natural gas, and Steel minister Dharmedra Pradhan has congratulated Mr Murmu for this important assignment .
In a congratulatory message Odisha CM Navin Pattanayak says ” Congratulate Odisha born IAS officer Girish Chandra Murmu being appointed as Comptroller and Auditor General of India. Wish him best for his new responsibility.”
Congratulating Mr Murmu Minister Sri Pradhan says”Congratulations to Shri Girish Chandra Murmu ji on his appointment as the new CAG of India. An excellent administrator, Shri Murmu is also the first Odia to hold the prestigious post of India’s Comptroller Auditor General. I wish him the best in his new role.”
Mr Murmu will join this constitutional post in place of Rajiv Maharishi, who is turning 65 on August 8 .
