Bhubaneswar, 12 August 2025: East Coast Railway General Manager Shri Parmeshwar Funkwal today led an intensive Swachhata drive in the premises of East Coast Railway Headquarters, reaffirming the zone’s strong commitment to the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
As part of the programme, Shramdan activities and an awareness drive were organised encouraging active participation from officers and staff. The GM personally reviewed cleanliness, sanitation, and waste management measures, interacting with railway personnel to gather feedback and suggestions.
During the cleanliness campaign, Shri Funkwal highlighted the importance of cleaning E-waste, reducing the use of paper and physical files, cleaning desktop and e-office files and rationalising the use of office printers. He urged departments to adopt sustainable practices that align with environmental conservation goals.
Officials were directed to sustain cleanliness drives, enhance waste segregation, and ensure proper disposal of waste materials. The campaign is aimed to inspire a culture of hygiene, digital efficiency, and environmental responsibility across the railway network.
