ECoR SIGNED MoU FOR SEVEN MORE ROBs

  • Seven ROBs between Dhanmandal- Brahmapur Railway Stations on Bhadrak- Palasa Section of Khurda Road Division in Howrah- Chennai main line to be constructed by Engineering Projects (India) Limited (EPIL).
  • These ROBs signed to one party on composite contract basis at estimate cost of Rs 303.36 Crores.
  • The ROBs are between Gopalpur Balikuda- Barang Stations, between Dhanmandal- Byree Stations, between Khurda Road- Kaipadar Road Stations, between Ganjam- Chatrapur Stations, between Chatrapur- Jagannathapur Stations and two between Jagannathapur- Brahmapur Stations over Khurda Road Division.
  • EPIL will be paid Management fee @ 4.21% over the project cost
  • So far ECoR signed MoU for construction of 13 ROBs.

Bhubaneswar(Kalinga Voice) ; East Coast Railway is committed for ensuring safety of both passengers and Rail Users under the leadership of Shri Vidya Bhushan, General Manager. To enhance the safety of train operations and facilitate hassle-free movement of both Rail and Road Traffic, Road Over Bridges (ROBs), Road Under Bridges (RUBs) and Limited Height Sub-Ways (LHS) are being constructed by abolishing Level Crossing Gates.

In order to archive this goal, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on 17.11.2020 between East Coast Railway and Telecommunications Consultants India Ltd (TCIL) for execution of work for construction of six ROBs.

East Coast Railway has gone ahead further and signed another MOU on 24.11.2020 with Engineering Projects (India) Limited (EPIL) for construction of 7 no. of ROBs between Dhanmandal- Brahmapur Railway Stations on Bhadrak- Palasa section of Khurda Road Division in Howrah- Chennai main line.

MOU for construction of these 7 ROBs has been signed to one party on composite contract basis at the estimate cost of Rs 303.36 Crores. Shri Biswajit Biswas, Executive Director, EPIL signed the MoU with Shri Brijesh Kumar Mishra, Chief Engineer (Road Safety Works) of East Coast Railway in presence of Shri Narottam Singh Uikey, Principal Chief Engineer, East Coast Railway.

The ROBs scheduled to be constructed are at Level Crossing Number 181 between Gopalpur Balikuda- Barang Stations, LC No. 169 between Dhanmandal- Byree Stations, LC No. 202 between Khurda Road- Kaipadar Road Stations, LC No. 289 between Ganjam- Chatrapur Stations, LC No. 292 between Chatrapur- Jagannathapur Stations, LC No. 303 between Jagannathapur- Brahmapur Stations and LC No. 304 between Jagannathapur- Brahmapur Stations over Khurda Road Division.

The work for these 7 ROBs has been assigned to EPIL by Railway Board and EPIL will be paid management fee @ 4.21% over the project cost. Modality for execution and standard MoU was finalised at the level of Railway Board and work specific MOU was to be signed at the level of East Coast Railway, in consultation with EPIL. With the signing of this agreement, total 13 no. of ROBs in East Coast Railway will be executed on the model formulated by Railway Board.
