Gymnasts of Odisha AM/NS India Gymnastics High Performance Centre shine at 38thNational Games
~Six Gold, Two Silver, and Three Bronze medals won in various events~
Bhubaneswar, February18, 2025: Gymnasts of Odisha AM/NS India Gymnastics High-Performance Centre (GHPC) have achieved remarkable success at the 38thNational Games held duringFebruary 8 -13, 2025, in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. Gymnasts from the GHPC dominated both Men’s Artistic Gymnastics (MAG) and Women’s Artistic Gymnastics (WAG), bagging multiple medals. Out of 12 gymnasts of the GHPC who had participated in various categories, seven of them won 11 medals in various competitions while representing their respective teams.
Representing Odisha, in the Women Artistic Gymnastics (WAG) category, Pranati Nayak upheld her exceptional track record by securing gold in the Individual All-Around Champion again this year. She further added to her success with a silver on Vault and a bronze on Balance Beam.
The Odisha Women’s Artistic Gymnastics (WAG) Team created history by securing their first-ever bronze in the Team Event, with four GHPC gymnasts including Pranati Nayak, Karishma, Aditi Todi and Ritika Das playing pivotal roles.
Representing Odisha, in the Senior Men’s Artistic Gymnastics (MAG), Rakesh Kumar Patra bagged double gold in Still Rings and Parallel Bars while Tapeswar Nath Das claimed silver in Vault.
A total of seven medals was won by the gymnasts of GHPC representing Odisha in artistic gymnastics. With historic wins in both MAG and WAG categories, these gymnasts have made Odisha proud on the national stage.
Among the other gymnasts of the GHPC, representing Services, Tapan Mohanty in the Men’s Artistic Gymnastics (MAG), secured gold and emerged as the Individual All-Around Champion. He added another gold in the Floor Exercise and earned a bronze on Still Rings. In the Team Championship, as part of the Services MAG Team, Tapan bagged another Gold.
This medal tally and the overall performance of the 12 participating athletes from the Odisha AM/NS India Gymnastics High Performance Center (GHPC) is a testament to the robust support and efforts by AM/NS India and the Government of Odisha in nurturing gymnastics within the state and the Nation at large.
