- Total COVID death toll reaches 66,333
- 51% of deaths are in the 60 years and above age group
New Delhi (Kalinga Voice) : Single-day spike of 78,357 new positive cases & 1045 deaths reported in India, in the last 24 hours.
COVID19 case tally in the country stands at 37,69,524 including 8,01,282 active cases, 29,019,09 cured/discharged/migrated & 66,333 deaths, says Ministry of Health and Family Welfare . As per the information provided by MHFW, 54% of COVID19 cases are in the 18-44 years age group but 51% of deaths are in the 60 years and above age group. 12 % of the total death are within the age group of 18-44 years and 36% of the death is in the age group of 45-60 years. The death percent in the age of 1-18 is only 1% .
The total number of samples tested up to 1st September is 4,43,37,201 including 10,12,367 samples tested yesterday , informed Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR)
