One day National Conference held by OARFT

Bhubaneswar, Odisha : OARFT successfully hosted a one-day National Conference focused on the emerging link between autoimmune diseases and infertility and recurrent pregnancy loss, bringing together leading experts, clinicians, and researchers from across the country On August 3, 2025, at the Hotel Mayfair Convention Center, Bhubaneswar, for a one-day national conference titled “Connecting Flares & Fertility in Rheumatology.”

Prof. Dr. A.N. Malaviya, honored with the OARFT Tribute 2025, provided clear guidance on the safety of rheumatologic drugs during pregnancy, helping clinicians make informed, evidence-based decisions to protect both mother and child. Prof. Dr. P.C. Mahapatra, an emeritus gynaecologist, shared valuable insights into treating infertility in women with autoimmune diseases, offering practical and compassionate strategies for managing these complex cases. Padma Shri Prof. Dr. Ashok Kumar Mahapatra, as Chief Guest, emphasized the critical need for interdisciplinary collaboration, underscoring that unified efforts across specialties are essential for delivering truly comprehensive patient care.

The event, focused on the critical intersection between Rheumatology and Gynaecology, aimed to shed light on the complex challenges faced by women dealing with autoimmune diseases—especially during their reproductive years. With over 300 delegates in attendance, the conference created a space for deep conversations, meaningful learning, and interdisciplinary collaboration.


Also joining the event as Guests of Honor were Dr. Sisir Kumar Mahapatro, President, IRA Odisha Branch, Prof. Dr. P.C. Mahapatra, emeritus Gynaecologist and Prof. Dr. Prasant Padhan, Head, Department of Rheumatology, KIMS Hospital and other esteemed leaders from medical society.
