Integrated Regional Office organised “Sketathon”

Bhubaneswar : In continuation of Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Integrated Regional Office, Bhubaneswar’s commitment to celebrate the “Mission Life”-Life Style for environment, today a “Sketathon” was organized in association with the Unicorn Skating Academy, Bhubaneswar. The commissioner of Police, Shri Somendra Priyadarshi graced the occasion as the chief guest and flagged off the awareness sketathon along with the Deputy Director General of Forests (Central), Shri Arta Trana Mishra and the Deputy Inspector General of Forests (Central), Smt. Padma Mahanti. The Commissioner of Police addressed the school and college children to adopt a healthy life style and contribute to the cause of environment. The Deputy Director General of Forests (Central) explained the students about the Mission “Life and Life style changes” needed for a healthy living.

The student started from Commissionerate of Police and sketathon culminated at Chandrasekharpur, Integrated Regional Office, Bhubaneswar with a pledge administered by the Deputy Inspector General of Forests (Central), Smt. Padma Mahanti to all the participants for adopting healthy life style and also disseminating this awareness among their family and friends. Certificates were distributed to all the participants of the sketathon. The programme ended with a note on adopting non motorized transport and being a part of India’s commitment to reduce carbon emission and combat climate change. The staff of the Integrated Regional Office, Commissionerate Police and parents of the participants graced the occasion.
