Chairman SNSMT Suparno Satpathy expressed his pleasure

Singapore: Speaker of Lok Sabha Shri. Om Birla during his visit paid his homage at the Indian National Army (INA) memorial. He was accompanied by diplomats and members of Indian parliament. To the same, lead member of Netaji movement and Chairman of SNSMT Shri Suparno Satpathy has expressed his pleasure with ‘Netaji Zindabad’ and ‘Jai Hind’. In a Twitter reply Shri. Satpathy put out an old photo of the INA monument in its original form.

The INA monument was originally built in 1945 as a mark of respect for Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and his valorous women & men of INA or Azad Hind Fauj. Those men and women who had taken to martyrdom in the war for independence of India. The original monument had been demolished with dynamites on the order of The Last Viceroy Lord Mountbatten, who in 1947 went on to become the first viceroy of India while Pt. Nehru took over as PM.

The current date INA monument in Singapore where Shri. Birla visited, was constructed in 1995 by the National Heritage Board.
