Bhubaneswar, July 24: A low pressure area is likely to form over west central Bay of Bengal and adjacent north west bay off south Odisha and north Andhra Pradesh coast on Tuesday, according to SOA’s Centre for Environment and Climate (CEC).
Under its influence, widespread rainfall is expected across south Odisha districts on Tuesday and Wednesday with heavy precipitation at a few places, a CEC bulletin said.
The districts likely to experience the rains include Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nawarangpur, Khurda and Puri as also Cuttack and Jagatsinghpur, it said.
The system could intensify into a depression on July 26 and north Odisha districts would experience rainfall from July 28. But the likelihood of another low pressure area developing on July 30 could trigger heavy to very heavy rainfall in north Odisha districts from July 31 to August 3, the bulletin said.
