Kashipur, December 13: Utkal Alumina International Limited (UAIL), a subsidiary of Hindalco Industries Limited of the Aditya Birla Group, organized a mega health camp at Nuagaon village under Kashipur Block in Rayagada district. The initiative was undertaken by UAIL’s Mines CSR wing as part of its commitment to community welfare.
The health camp was formally inaugurated in the presence of the local Sarpanch and Samiti members, along with UAIL Unit Head Mr. Rabi Narayan Mishra; AVP, Corporate Affairs, Suparna Nanda; Baphlimali Mines Head Vijay Chauhan; Chief Medical Officer, Utkal Hospital, Dr. Rajendra Lenka; Head, Utkal Hospital, Nuapada, Dr. Rajendra Mandal; and Mines CSR Head Manoj Das.
Residents from Maikanch and Kodipari Panchayat’s 39 surrounding villages of Nuagaon, along with students from two nearby schools, participated in the camp and underwent health check-ups. Specialist doctors from the departments of general medicine, dermatology, pediatrics, and gynecology examined patients, distributed free medicines, and provided medical advice, including referrals for further treatment wherever required.
Due to the lack of adequate healthcare facilities in Nuagaon and its adjoining areas, residents often face various health-related challenges. In the absence of timely and quality medical services, many people suffer from prolonged illnesses. Addressing this pressing need, UAIL organized the mega health camp as a proactive step to improve access to healthcare.
The participation of specialist doctors, who offered professional medical consultation and necessary medicines, benefited the community significantly. The initiative has been widely appreciated by the residents, who have lauded UAIL for undertaking such meaningful healthcare interventions in the region.In this Mega health Camp, Project Head M.
