Bhubaneswar(Kalinga Voice) : Over 1000 participants from different higher education institutions across Odisha joined the virtual programme, titled ‘Mu Odia, Mu Garbita’, organized by ‘Mo College’ on the occasion of Odisha Day 2022. ‘Mo College’ Chairperson Akash Dasnayak, CYSD Co-founder Jagadananda, Chief Administrative Officer Odia Daily Samaja Dr Pravas Acharya and Vice Chancellor Ravenshaw University Dr Sanjay Kumar Nayak joined as guest speakers at the event.
In his welcome address, ‘Mo College’ Chairperson Akash Dasnayak said, “Odisha is a land of glory and pride, where we are blessed with natural beauty, minerals, grandeur of culture and heritage. This Land is of Lord Jagannath and so, while taking pride as an Odia, it is our duty to nurture, protect and take it further with personal efforts”.
He further said that ‘Mo College’ Abhijan envisioned by Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik has become a unique platform to connect every alumnus to their Alma Mater achieving the overall development of higher education in the state. So, he invited everyone to join the initiative and together pledge to flourish our educational institutions.”
Speaking on the occasion Dr. Sanjay Kumar Nayak, VC Ravenshaw University said, “The state government has been taking various steps to support the students’ dreams and aspirations. ‘Mo College’ Abhijan is a shining example of the same. Ravenshaw University has witnessed the golden days of education of many stalwarts of Odisha. So, let us stand united and work in tandem to make Odisha a leading education hub of the country.”
Adding his thoughts to the discussion, Dr. Pravas Acharya Chief Administrative Officer The Samaja spoke, “Odisha was the first state to be formed on a linguistic basis and received statehood in the year 1936. We must prove ourselves worthy of this land. So, education has a bigger role to play in this direction”. Hence, he advised every single faculty member coming under ‘Mo College’ institutions to commit and create students into responsible citizens of the future.
“Let’s take a pledge on this day to take higher education to a greater plane. The UGC has emphasized on the social responsibility of Higher Education Institutions. So let’s make every institution connect to the local community”, said CYSD Co-founder Jagadananda at the programme. “By 2030 we all should make sure that not a single person is to be deprived of education. We should also see that the higher education institutions in the state reach their pinnacle during the time”, he added.
There are over 750 higher education institutions under the banner of Mo College. With the contribution and active support of alumnis and the grant by the Government of Odisha, various unique projects are being taken up by Mo College towards long term and sustainable development of the higher education scenario in the state.
