Bhubaneswar (Kalinga Voice):The Subhadra Art Gallery, Bhubaneswar in collaboration with the Dubai Odia Society and the Suryakshetra Foundation, organized the “Modi@20 International Exhibition of Painting & Sculptures” today at the Dubai International Art Center. The event was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Shri Bishnupada Sethi, Principal Secretary of the Odia Language, Literature and Culture Department, Govt of Odisha.
The exhibition saw participation from around 40 artists from various Indian states, including Odisha, Assam, Tripura, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Delhi, as well as 20 artists from Dubai. The artworks showcased a range of visuals inspired by the welfare initiatives taken by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Among the highlights was “The Modi and Crown Prince” by artist Rajamata Deepti Yadav and “Modi and the Tea Kettle” by Anup Chand, both of which garnered considerable attention on the opening day.
In his inaugural address, Shri Bishnupada Sethi praised the exhibition as a powerful platform for cultural exchange, emphasizing its role in fostering an educational environment and creative exchange among artists from India and Dubai. He further expressed hope that such exhibitions would continue to promote creativity and bring wider recognition to the artists’ works.
Highlighting the heritage of Odisha’s art, Shri Sethi remarked that Odisha’s art forms, including the renowned Pattachitra and palm leaf etchings embody the state’s rich history and cultural pride. He urged continued efforts to promote and preserve this legacy.
The “Modi@20 International Art Exhibition” will remain open to visitors in Dubai until November 11. Key dignitaries present at the inauguration included Surya Rath, Chairman of Subhadra Art Gallery; Ashok Nayak, Gallery Director; Dr. Bipin Mishra, Chairman of the Suryakshetra Foundation; Dyali Bhalia, Chairperson of the Dubai International Art Center; Amiya Mishra, President of the Dubai Odia Samaj; along with esteemed artists Anjali Prakash, Dr. Kulamani Bishwal, Kaji Raghav and educationist Mihir Sahu.
