Burla,22.03.2025:TP Western Odisha Distribution Limited (TPWODL) continues to commitment towards continual improvement of electricity infrastructure and delivery of uninterrupted, reliable power supply to the people of Western Odisha. All these paradigm shifts, require regular cooperation from all in particularly from the electricity consumers. Regular payment of electricity bills is very critical to maintain the distribution standard and improve it further from the current state of affairs. Because monthly bill collection is the only source of revenue for the entire value chain from generation to transmission to distribution.

We wish to inform all consumers and the public at large that, TPWODL purchases electricity & pays approximately Rs. 375 crore every month to state owned public enterprise GRIDCO, which is then distributed across the nine districts of Western Odisha. In order to make the purchases the entire amount is paid in advance every month that to beginning of the month. In addition to this, TPWODL fulfils its responsibilities to its workforce by paying the monthly salaries of 3,335 direct employees on last working day of every month. Furthermore, pensions are paid on the first work of every month to 4,315 retired employees. TPWODL also takes pride in ensuring timely payments to the 15,541 indirect employees, those who support various services, all aimed at enhancing the electricity supply standard for consumers.

The company also upholds its commitment to the welfare of its employees through health insurance, life insurance, provident fund contributions, and various other benefits. Moreover, TPWODL allocates a significant portion of its funds to cover essential operational costs, including office infrastructure, modern machinery, vehicles, and electrical equipment to further elevate service quality. Despite these financial commitments, TPWODL remains dedicated to its corporate social responsibilities.

As per the guidelines issued by the Hon’ble Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission (OERC), rebates to consumers and rebates to agriculture sector are provided. These efforts contribute significantly to the economic growth of Western Odisha, with crores of rupees circulating in the region every month.

It is important to highlight that all of these expenditures can only be possible from the timely payments of electricity bills from our consumers. We urge all consumers to continue paying their electricity bills with in due date to ensure the regular enhancement of power infrastructure, which is crucial for the growth of Western Odisha and the state as a whole.
