Bhubaneswar(Kalinga Voice) : “Proud of our frontline COVID warriors who sacrificed their lives for the people of Odisha, we salute their heroic deeds and selfless sacrifice Thank 4.5 crore people of Odisha, stood with us, showed great resilience in the face of this unprecedented pandemic BJD will run a month-long campaign from Gandhi Jayanti for sensitizing people on use of Mask, Hand washing, social distancing & following COVID guidelines,” said CM and BJD President Naveen Patnaik presiding over the BJD Legislature Party Meeting.

Sri Pattanaik said ” With support of COVID warriors and the people of Odisha, the State has one of the highest recovery rates in the country, saves maximum people in the country with low fatality rates. Odisha pioneered setting up of dedicated COVID hospitals,Temporary Medical Camps. Empowered Gram Panchayats played vital role in COVID management. From food in TMCs to accommodation, Testing, lodging, Transport, Treatment, Plasma Therapy everything is provided free of cost to COVID patients in the State.
CM had asked all the BJD MLAs to actively mobilise blood plasma and help in dead body cremation through BJD’s ‘Jeeban Bindu’ and Ódisha Mo Parivar Programes’.
On New Education Policy CM said ” Committee formed by BJD to discuss with various stakeholders and come up with the findings on this aspect. Protection and promotion of mother-tongue Ódia’ will be ensured whether its in the New Education Policy or any other intervention of the Union Government as Odisha was the first starte to be formed on linguistic basis. This will form an important principle to evaluate the Education policy and in addition to this ‘How rural students will be impacted’ will also be an important criteria”
On Farmers Bills CM said ” BJD is in favour of any initiative that will bring prosperity in the lives of farmers. We will continue our fight for implementation of M.S.Swaminathan recommendation for formulating Minimum Support Price. This will really help the farmers at large. In both houses of Parliament BJD raised its concerns regarding protection of farmers interest in the Farmers bill and suggested for close scrutiny by Parliamentary Committee. Party will form a Committee of MLAs, MPs and leading farmer’s leaders to study the provisions. I would like to assure the farmers that their welfare will be paramount in any of our interventions.” CM further said “State’s Electricity consumption has reached Pre- COVID times signaling picking up of industrial activity and other business. Target to provide 20 crore mandays under NREGS, focus on on lending to Farmers, Women SHGs and MSMEs to further kick start economy. Still we are always open to all constructive suggestions and criticisms of the opposition friends” said Sri Pattanaik .
