There are many civil servants in the state who always hog limelight for their humanitarian touch in public life and IAS officer Bisnupada Sethi is one among them. After getting to know about this incident you can’t stop lauding the senior bureaucrat.
One Nisha Patnaik of Koraput district posted about the injustice meted out to his father on a Facebook group. The matter was really heartbreaking. Nisha’s father, Bhabani Shankar Patnaik, an employee of Laxmipur Tehsil office in Koraput district, was then suffering from high fever and was advised by the doctor to take bed rest. According to government rules Bhawani Babu applied to the Tehsildar to allow him to go on leave. His medical condition compelled him to literally beg for leave but the merciless lady Tehsildar outrightly rejected the leave petition. Being helpless Nisha posted her ordeals on Facebook. Fortunately, Youth Against Corruption, a voluntary organization of Jokhipalli in Bijepur block of Bargarh district, came across the post and twitted the same to the principal secretary Revenue and Disaster Management. Realizing the gravity of the matter principal secretary Bisnupada Sethy immediately informed the Tehsildar through the DM Koraput and medical leave of Nisha’s father was sanctioned. This noble gesture of the civil servant is being highly acclaimed everywhere.
