Bhubaneswar/Kalinga Voice : Remnant of the tropical storm Noul which developed over the South China Sea this week is likely to create a low pressure area over the north east Bay of Bengal on Sunday which could concentrate into a depression on land over West Bengal the next day, the Centre for Environment and Climate (CEC) at the SOA Deemed to be University here said today.
The system was likely to move into Gangetic West Bengal on Sunday night and then move in a westerly direction into Jharkhand and then Chhattisgarh thereafter and have its impact till September 23.
Under its influence, heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to occur in the districts of north Odisha on September 20 and 21. Parts of western Odisha would also receive rainfall on September 22.
Rainfall may also be experienced in south Odisha and the coastal region from September 19 to 21 due to wind flow from central India as well as the Arabian Sea, the bulletin said.
