- Exempt GST on the purchase of Vaccine
- Provide financial assistance to the states from cess and surcharges collected by GOI
Bhubaneswar (Kalinga Voice) : Chief Minister of Odisha Sri Naveen Pattanaik has written a letter to Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaraman to exempt GST on the purchase of the vaccine of Covid-19, which is being purchased by the state government from its own resource to cover up the vaccination of the 18 to 45 years age group of the population.
In his letter to the Union Finance Minister, CM Sri Pattanaik also sought financial assistance to the states from cess and surcharges collected on petrol, diesel, and liquor which is exclusively available to the Government of India. It may be suitably shared with the state governments at this critical juncture, which will strengthen the fight against the pandemic including provision for vaccination, free treatment undertaking preventive measures, and so on.
