Odisha-Mo Parivar extends a helping hand to the Families of Odia workers killed in Fire Mishap in AP
Bhubaneswar(Kalinga Voice) : Convenor of Odisha – Mo Parivar went to Gunupur to offer condolences on behalf of the Hon’ble Chief Minister on the death of 6 Odia workers in an accident at a shrimp farm in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh.
Five workers from Gunupur in Rayagada district and one worker from Gajapati district were burnt alive due to a fire caused by short circuit at a shrimp farm in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh. The news was reported to Gunupur MLA Shri Raghunath Gamang and Odisha-Mo Parivar from the Chief Minister’s Residenceb Office.
Odisha – Mo Parivar immediately coordinated with the local police in Andhra Pradesh and urged them to expedite the legal process. Gunupur MLA, Shri Gamang reached Guntur with the relatives of the deceased and conducted the last rites.
Earlier, Chief Ministers of Odisha and thereafter Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh announced an ex-gratia to the family of the deceased. Apart from this, due to the persistent efforts of Odisha – Mo Parivar, the Owner of the Company also agreed to provide compensation of Rs 5 Lakh each to the family. In addition, the Collector Rayagada and Odisha – Mo Parivar also extended financial assistance to the bereaved family.
Today, Convenor, Odisha – Mo Parivar alongwith MLA Sri Gamang and Rayagada District President Sri Sudhir Das handed over the cheques to the family members, while their arrival at Gunupur. Notably, 33 other labourers also returned to Odisha along with them. The Labour Commission’s attention has been drawn towards the incident so that the kin may get further financial assistance.
