Odisha’s sample test rate is higher than the national average
Bhubaneswar (Kalinga Voice): As the country continues its effort to increase the number of COVID sample testing, Odisha is well ahead of the national average due to the relentless efforts of the state government ranking second in the list of states with the highest number of the sample tested. The test rate in the country is 580 per million population, while 11 states are above the national average. Odisha is in second place (next to Goa) with 1265 million samples tested,
Testing in India has steeply increased to more than 9 lakh tests per day. Total number of samples tested up to 20th August is 3,34,67,237 including 8,05,985 samples tested yesterday .This is bolstered with all States / UTs testing more than 140 tests / day / million population as advised by WHO (World Health Organization), says Ministry of Health & Family Welfare
