Pandian participates in the launching of the Nua-O Scholarships program in Kalahandi, Bolangir and Bargarh.

Pandian adviced the students to aim high and work hard to achieve. He said that Chief Minister Sh Naveen Patnaik has launched the Nua-O Scholarship to support the youth to realise their dreams
He explained the concept of Nabin Odisha Magic Card – a smart card for the students – which will create a vibrant eco system to enable the students to achieve their goals. This card will be given to all students without any income criteria and the portal will be launched on March 5th and the cards distribution would start from August 15th.
The Nua O Magic Card will go a long way to help the students in Personality Development, reduce the financial burden on parents, create opportunities for career progression and employment.
In today’s program, total 37,160 eligible students from 80 colleges of Kalahandi, Balangir and Bargarh district received the scholarship worth about Rs 36.81 Crores.

Bhubaneswar: As per the direction of Chief Minister Sh. Naveen Patnaik, Chairman 5T and Nabin Odisha Sh. V.K Pandian visited Kalahandi, Balangir and Bargarh district today.

He attended the Nua-O Scholarship Distribution Programme at Dharmagarh in Kalahandi, Titilagarh in Balangir and in Bargarh District where he interacted with the students from the respective districts.

Sh. Pandian informed that 37,160 eligible students from 80 colleges of Kalahandi, Balangir and Bargarh district will get their scholarship. With this, Rs. 36.81 Crores has been sanctioned for 37,160 nos. of students from all the 03 districts. He distributed Nua-O Scholarship Sanction Orders to the students.

He conveyed the message of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik that the youth should dream big and work hard towards achieving their potential. The government will ensure that the youth are provided with the support to achieve their goals.

Sh Pandian said that the government’s next major initiative will be to cover all the students through the launching of the futuristic Nabin Odisha Magic Card, a points-system based smart card which will engage and empower the youth and enable them towards academic development, personality development, skill development and will reduce the financial burden on parents, create opportunities for career progression and employment.

Online registration portal for this card will be launched on March 5th, 2024. All the students, without any income criteria, of the UG and PG courses will be eligible. And the distribution of the card will be on August 15th.
