Bhubaneswar(Kalinga Voice) : A review meeting on the activities and progress of work of Odisha Lift Irrigation Corporation(OLIC) was held under the Chairmanship of Smt. Anu Garg, IAS; Principal Secretary to Govt., Deptt. Of Water Resources through virtual mode today in presence of Mrs. Archana Patnaik, IAS; Managing Director, OLIC and all field level officials. In the meeting Principal Secretary,DoWR focused on ensuring operationalization of Lift Irrigation Projects during Rabi season and timely completion of work synergizing with Minor Irrigation and Ground Water Development.
Smt. Garg also emphasised that balance irrigation potential 98,628 hectares against target of 1,40,000 hectares during FY 2021-22 needs to be achieved and expenditure to be expedited for utilisation of entire budgetary provision. To identify more project proposals, Minor Irrigation and Lift Irrigation to work together and report to be submitted within 15 days. Unsuccessful Deep Bore Wells to be utilised to recharge Ground Water associating with Ground Water Development and report to be submitted for preparing guidelines. Further, Smt Garg also instructed that reimbursement Claims and Utilisation Certificates along with Project Completion Reports should be sent regularly in each month.
