Puri, 22/3: Congress will hold the assembly gherao on the 27th of this month. The entire Odisha is witnessing the way Congress has raised its voice against the smuggling of women, gang rape, rape etc. in the state in recent days. As a result, the BJP government got scared and suspended congress’s Powerful MLA Tara Bahinipati from the assembly house. Protesting such undemocratic actions of the government, Puri District Congress will join the assembly gherao to be held on the 27th at the call of PCC President Bhakta Charan Das.
A preparatory meeting has been held at the Congress district office located on VIP Road. Many leaders and workers from all sections including students, youth, women and backward classes attended the meeting under the chairmanship of District Working President Jayanarayan Patnaik. The meeting was attended by the state Congress-appointed observer Abhilash Mania and speaker Prashant Satapathy to discuss how more and more workers from all assembly constituencies in Puri district and the general public can join hands. Among others, Bishwabhushan Das, Manoj Rath, Bidutalata Acharya, Kaliprasad Nayak, Niranjan Rath, Bhaskar Seth, Soumyakanta Khuntia, Amarendra Paikaraya, Nandini Kumar Panda, Kahnucharan Pradhan, Manoj Kumar Behera, Ashutosh Mishra, Surya Kant Patra, Bishwaranjan Samantraya were prominently present in today’s program.
