Vegetarian spread to serve 15+ dishes, unlimited food without onion & garlic
Bhubaneswar: In a novel initiative to celebrate the festive spirit of Ratha Jatra, a special vegetarian platter was launched at Nimantran Bhubaneswar. This platter contains 15+ dishes inspired by the festival and will be exclusively served from 7th to 15th July 2024 at Nimantran Bhubaneswar.
Department of Tourism along with Odisha Tourism Development Corporation have been taking strategic strides over the years to popularise Odia culture, festival and cuisine among the masses. Through Nimantran, which is an authentic Odia-cuisine restaurant, a special vegetarian platter has been curated with an aim to popularise Odia Sattvik Cuisine generally consumed by the masses during the holy festival of Ratha Jatra in Odisha. The menu is not fixed and every day, during the festive period, Nimantran will serve a variety of authentic Odia dishes as part of this platter and patrons can eat as much as they desire per sitting.
The inaugural ceremony had 30+ media persons and social media influencers participating whose views and expert opinions were also taken to offer visitors a platter with a refined taste for the next 9 days. The platter consisted of authentic dishes such as steamed rice, kanika, dalma, poori, besara, saga, pachedi etc., apart from sweet dishes like Khasta Mitha, Chenna Mitha, khiri, and dahi torani as beverage.
It is pertinent to mention that the restaurant won’t be serving any non-vegetarian, or a la carte menu dishes during this period. This special vegetarian platter will be served both during lunch and dinner.
General Manager OTDC Dr. Lalatendu Sahoo, Executive Chef Nimantran Shri Sanjoy Sarkar and other officials of Department of Tourism & OTDC were present during the inauguration.
