Bhubaneswar : On 15thDec 2024, the 8thMini Marathon of Sainik School and OMC was organized by its Old Boys Association (OBA). More than 600 cadets of Sainik School, 200 OBEANS and 400 Students of Sahodaya Schools Complex Bhubaneswar chapter and Government Schools participated in the event with a great vigour and enthusiasm.
This event was a collaborative conduct by the OBEANS of Sainik School Bhubaneswar and Odisha Mining Corporation with a purpose to spread the message of “Clean, Green and Healthy Bhubaneswar” with the spirit of ‘Run for Fun’.
The event was flagged off by Commodore Mahesh Rahangdale,Dy Director General, NCC Directorate Odisha, Colonel Balu Bharath, Principal, Sainik School and Shri Madhusan Padhi IAS (Retd), President OBA, in the presence of Cdr Dinesh Swain, Secretary OBA, Lt Col Amit Tewari, Adm Officer, Cdr Manorama Pokheriya, Vice Principal, Senior Officials of OMC, Shri Amitabh Swain, all the guests, cadets and staff.
The seniors covered a distance of 10 Km and the junior ran for 6.5 KM.
Shri B PRASAD DORA emerged as the winner followed by ABHISHEK KUMAR in senior category whereas VIKASH was the winner followed by SHIVAM YADAV in the junior category.
Miss AKANKSHA PRIYA was the winner of the marathon amongst the girls andShri Ranjith Sahani was the winner in OBA category. They were awarded with cash prizes by the Chief Guest.
In his address to the Youth, Cme Rahangdale appealed to them to work for a Clean, Green & Healthy Bhubaneswar and cooperate in the endeavors of the government and he expressed his happiness for the continued efforts to maintain a clean environment of Sainik School campus.
