Besides representing Dhenkanal constituency in the Parliament of India for two terms he has a significant contribution in shaping the Intellectual bank of Odias through his editorials as the editor of Dharitri (leadingOdia daily newspaper). His contributions for the Sri Aurobindo ashram and for the Netaji movement are unparalleled.
